Integrated degree program at FTCAP

In 2015, Janne Zierow was the first student to participate in an integrated degree program at FTCAP. The program allowed him to combine an apprenticeship as an industrial clerk at FTCAP with a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering. In 2018 he completed both – and with huge success: Janne Zierow was distinguished by the Schleswig-Holstein Chamber of Industry and Commerce as the top graduate statewide in the dual BA degree/apprenticeship program.

Zierow, a native of Husum, is still enrolled in the integrated degree program at FTCAP. Currently he is working toward his master’s degree in industrial engineering at the University of Applied Sciences in Wedel and works in the IT department at FTCAP during the semester breaks. His job there is to optimize the interfaces between machines, production and IT networks – an exciting challenge that will accompany him throughout his entire master’s degree.
This differs from the bachelor’s program, where he worked his way through all the departments, from sales and purchasing to design engineering and production: “I found this a very good way to become familiar with the entire company”, says Janne Zierow, who hopes to work full-time at FTCAP after completing his master’s degree.

FTCAP offers young talents diverse career entry opportunities – for example, an apprenticeship as an industrial clerk or mechanic, warehouse logistics specialist or machine operator, or as a student in an integrated degree program. Additional information is available at www.ftcap.de/karriere.
