FTCAP at electronica 2018

For FTCAP, electronica 2018 will also be dominated by the acquisition by Mersen: At the trade fair for the electronics industry, which will take place in Munich from 13 to 16 November, the two companies, despite two independent booths, will be presenting as one. The main focus of the trade fair appearance will be modules made of capacitors from FTCAP and bus bars and heat sinks from Mersen.

Capacitor modules with busbars and heat sinks

"The development departments of our companies have already begun an intensive exchange," says FTCAP Managing Director André Tausche. "In addition to an intensive transfer of knowledge, we want to make the best possible use of synergies and thus achieve our goal as quickly as possible: Namely to offer innovative modules in which the FTCAP capacitors are optimally matched to busbars and heat sinks from Mersen - and vice versa. The demand for these capacitors is high and several projects with joint customers have already been started".

The advantages of this can be seen from the example of the high-performance PowerStacks reference design that both companies have developed together with their partner AgileSwitch. This team has demonstrated that they can optimize a pre-defined design by applying their respective expertise. The PowerStacks combine power modules, busbars, capacitors, cooling devices and gate drivers in a single unit and feature a high power density. “Another special feature here is that this solution meets the respective performance requirements precisely," says André Tausche. "The customer gets exactly what he needs - without expensive safety buffers".

FTCAP can be found at electronica 2018 in Hall B6, Stand 500 - within sight of the partner Mersen at Stand 509 in the same hall. "Thanks to our direct proximity, we can advise customers at the trade fair together and clarify questions directly with the experts responsible," concludes André Tausche. "Please do not hesitate to contact us!“
