FTCAP at PCIM 2018: Moisture-proof capacitors and successful results in research project InMOVE

FTCAP will again be present at this year's PCIM Europe, which will take place from 05/06/2018 to 07/06/2018 in Nuremberg. At the international exhibition for power electronics the Husum-based capacitor specialist will not only present its innovative moisture-proof film capacitors, but also the interim results of the research project InMOVE.

Successful research will be at the focus of the FTCAP exhibit at PCIM 2018. For example, the company will present its innovative moisture-proof capacitors. The special encapsulated design of this solution features an aluminium cup and sealing ring, which reduces water penetration by ten times compared with conventional products. The result is a longer life and improved reliability, even under extreme conditions of use.

Significant research success has also been achieved by the consortium, which since 2016 has jointly developed integrated power electronics for drive systems in electric and hybrid vehicles as part of the InMOVE project. Meanwhile, the research partners have succeeded in developing a drive module with an impressive power output of 80 kW. FTCAP designed and implemented a suitable DC link capacitor, which allows alternating currents of 70 A at a frequency of 13.5 kHz. This high current load is made possible by an innovative cooling system and the flat design, which improves heat dissipation.

FTCAP will be at PCIM at booth 9-513.
